SCADA System Engineer

SCADA System Engineer

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project requirements
  • Prepare plans and specifications for control and telecommunications technologies
  • Coordinate and interface with external utilities, governmental agencies and external clients
  • Develop detailed installation job instructions and documentation
  • Update asset management systems and documentation
  • Ensure production of assigned technical documentation related to projects
  • Provide analysis and input rating for NERC CIP impact analysis rating of SCADA systems and equipment
  • Develop engineering cost estimates; create and close work orders
  • Develop schedules to meet project operating dates
  • Track delivery status of initiated orders
  • Provide project management and technical oversight for project construction
  • Participate in project meetings
  • Provide updates on project financial performance
  • Oversee contractors and service providers in the field to ensure designs are implemented per instructions and resolve any issues
  • Collecting project engineering information
  • Maintain a safety conscious work environment
  • Support procurement of new equipment and decommissioning of old equipment

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Control and/or Telecommunication System Engineering;
  • Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), Data concentrators, Modems and Transducers is required.
  • Knowledge of Terminal Servers, Gateways, Program Logic Controllers (PLC), CDC Protocol, DNP3/Secure DNP3, MODBUS, TCP/IP, RS-232, RS-485, IEEE 802.11 is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Must be a Team Player
